Austin Board of Realtors also wins award for excellence in Realtor education
The Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) is proud to announce that Reba Saxon of Teacher Realty in Cedar Park was named 2015 Educator of the Year during the Texas Association of REALTORS® Winter Meeting on Feb. 8. Saxon is an instructor for the Graduate REALTOR® Institute who also teaches the Texas Real Estate Commission-required Legal Update and Broker Responsibility courses, as well as the Accredited Buyer Representative and Senior Real Estate Specialist Designation courses.
Saxon explained, “Most people enter the real estate industry as their second or third career, and a great trainer is also a coach who helps them to recognize their weaknesses and utilize their strengths. I am always excited to share knowledge, learn more myself, help brokers run more responsive businesses, and motivate agents to do good work.”
“Saxon is known for her drive to improve, her willingness to learn new things and dedication to ensure that all participants receive the quality education they deserve,” said Leslie Rouda Smith, chairman of the Texas Association of REALTORS®. “The Educator of the Year is awarded to those who have dedicated themselves to their peers and REALTOR® education year-round, and Saxon is most deserving of this honor.”
The Austin Board of REALTORS® Professional Standards for REALTORS® course also was honored with an Education Program of the Year award in the legal category.
“These awards are examples of the hard work our local Realtors put in all year long that make the Austin Board of REALTORS® the real estate experts in Central Texas,” said Aaron Farmer, 2016 President of the Austin Board of REALTORS®. “As we move further into 2016, Austin REALTORS® will continue to strive to make our city a great place to work, live and play.”
The Professional Standards for REALTORS® course takes a deep dive into the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Code of Ethics to help members, brokers and sales managers better understand their duty as local market experts while encouraging professionalism and accountability. It examines the importance of monitoring and maintaining the highest level of transparency in the real estate industry.
Furthermore, ABoR is proud to announce that Cathy Coneway with Stanberry & Associates was inducted into the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR) Omega Tau Rho fraternity. Recognizing REALTORS® who have made outstanding contributions to the real estate industry, this honorary fraternity exemplifies the REALTORS®'s pledge of performance and excellence to clients and each other.
