Many people across the Texas Gulf Coast have had their homes damaged or destroyed due to Hurricane Harvey. Homes And Rentals (HAR.com) has built a platform to help those looking for temporary housing. If you would like to help the displaced families, you can enter a property that is available in your area temporarily.
Temporary Housing section on HAR.com
The new temporary housing section on HAR.com will be going live very soon. You may see mentions of it on social media and elsewhere. REALTORS® may already post housing they have available for those affected by Hurricane Harvey right now. The properties may be available for rent or for free, depending on the owner. Since these are intended only to be temporary, the maximum term allowed is 12 weeks. This will not replace or replicate existing short-term rentals in your MLS.
Where to start
The process for how your property is displayed on the Temporary Housing section depends on whether you have already Claimed Your Profile on HAR.com. If you have claimed your profile, you will simply need to login as a REALTOR® on HAR.com and then enter the requested information. Your process to post a property will be faster since we have already authenticated your identity. You may also enter as many temporary housing properties as you would like.
If you have not claimed your profile, you must create an HAR account just like a consumer who would like to post a property for temporary housing. You would then have to go through the identity verification process and then would be limited to post only one property. We strongly encourage you to Claim Your Profile, if you have not already done so, to make this posting process easier and allow you to post more properties and help more people.
