ABoR Foundation Set to Host Barton Creek Home Tour

First fundraiser of the year scheduled for April 8

March 26, 2010 - The Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) Foundation will host its first fundraising event of 2010 on Thursday, April 8 with the Barton Creek Home Tour. The event, which takes place from 11:30 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., will help raise money for the foundation’s scholarship fund. Included with each $15 ticket is a tour of six luxurious Austin homes and lunch. Those individuals who visit all six homes will be entered for a chance to win door prizes.

Every year, the ABoR Foundation provides deserving high school seniors with scholarships to attend Texas colleges, universities or trade schools. Home tours and other fundraising events help the foundation support the community and create the ability to do so for the long term.

“The seniors we interview for these scholarships every year have so much heart and such promise despite the challenges they face in realizing their dreams of getting to college,” said Carol Medley Parker of Coldwell Banker United REALTOR® and 2010 Chair of the ABoR Foundation. “Any one of them could be that person who grows up to make some extraordinary difference in the world.”

For more information or to purchase tickets for the home tour, contact any of the following Friends of the Foundation: Laura Pagnozzi; Alisa LeBlanc; Mary Ellen Schmidt; Doren and Tawanna Carver; April Downey; Sandra Mann; Diana Taber; Linda Schulman; Vicky Gouge; Connie Hentosh; Shelly Roark; Lilli Dominy; Lynn Bates; Meredith Cain; Cindy Mims; or Crystal Smith. Tickets are also available online at http://www.abor.com/events/tour.cfm.

The ABoR Foundation, representing more than 8,000 licensed REALTORS® in Central Texas, is a charitable organization that provides scholarships, conducts service projects in the community and helps REALTORS® and their families in the event of catastrophe. Established in 1978, the ABoR Foundation has awarded more than 250 scholarships to high school seniors to help families put their children through college.
