SAFEMLS
The Austin Board of REALTORS® has committed to ensuring the MLS network is a secure work environment for our
MLS subscribers. To that end, ABoR implemented a "strong authentication" process to eliminate password risks
by providing multi-factor authentication. In a convenient key-fob package, SAFEMLS tokens generate one-time
passwords with the simple touch of a button.
Registering Your SAFEMLS Token
In order to activate your SAFEMLS token, you must register it. To do so, click on "I Need to Enroll My Token"
on the MLXchange home page. Follow the on-screen instructions. The serial number for your SAFEMLS token is
located on the back of your token below the bar code. You will also select a four-digit PIN code. We recommend
a code that you will easily remember such as your Supra Key PIN code.
It may take a few seconds to process your request. Once you receive the on-screen confirmation that your token
has been enrolled, you can test it by clicking the "TEST" button on the screen.
Using Your SAFEMLS Token
Each time you log in to MLXchange, you will be required to enter your user name, four-digit PIN and the
password generated by your SAFEMLS token. To generate a SAFEMLS password, simply press the gray button on your token.
SAFEMLS passwords are not case sensitive so it is not necessary to capitalize the letters. Please note the
following characters which are often confused: "0" is the number zero and not the letter O; "S" is the number
five; "I" is the number one; and "B" is the number eight.
If you accidentally press the gray button more than once prior to logging in and receive an invalid
password message, simply press the button one more time and enter the next password generated. This will
reset the synchronization of passwords assigned to your token.
Lost or Broken Tokens
If your token is lost or broken, please report it immediately by following the steps below.
- During normal business hours, visit the ABoR office to be issued a new token.
- After hours or on weekends, you may obtain an emergency password that will be valid for four days. Click on the "I Lost or Broke My Token" link on the MLXchange home page. Follow the on-screen instructions. A password will be sent to the e-mail address you have in your membership record. The password will be valid for only four days, after which, you will be required to obtain a new token. Visit the ABoR office during normal business hours to be issued a new token.
Reporting a token as lost or broken will disable the token. If you find the token after reporting it lost please contact the ABoR office for further instructions.
