Press Releases: 2005

NEW ASSISTANT FEES ASSESSED FOR ACTRIS PARTICIPANTS

August 19, 2005 - The Austin Board of REALTORS® is now collecting ACTRIS participation fees, which are due by September 15, 2005. Beginning with this billing cycle, all office assistants listed by Designated REALTORS® (DR) on the Multiple Listing Service (MLS) will be charged a biannual usage fee of $26.65. Payments for assitants are due on the same schedule as DR payments. The assistant fee was established to promote the security of MLS data, as formerly-employed office assistants may still be able to access TEMPO. DRs may visit the "My Agents" section of Abor.com to view a list of their authorized assistants. Assistants are designated with the letters "NPA."

Payment for REALTORS® and assistants can be submitted in the following ways: through the "My ABoR" section of Abor.com; by phone (512/454-7636); in person at the ABoR office, located at 10900 Stonelake Blvd. in Austin; or by standard mail. Note that late payments - including mail postmarked after September 15 - will be assessed a $25 fine. The deadline for the next round of ACTRIS participation fees is March 15, 2006.

DRs may authorize office assistants to use the MLS by submitting a Real Estate Assistant Application. DRs are responsible for identifying the level of MLS access assistants will be permitted: residential, residential and leasing, office manager or broker level. Real estate assistants may not hold an active real estate or appraiser's license. Assistants requiring a Supra keypad must submit a Supra key lease agreement.

DRs are strongly encouraged to complete a termination request for all former assistants they wish to have removed from the system. The termination request form can be returned to ABoR by mail (10900 Stonelake Blvd., Suite 100. Austin, TX 78759), by fax (512/454-5369) or in person. If you have any questions, contact the Member Services Department.
