SURVEY SHOWS INCREASED SATISFACTION AMONG MEMBERS OF THE AUSTIN BOARD OF REALTORS
Members were asked to rate ABoR services and staff on a scale of one to four, four being exemplary. In their responses, members labeled MLS service and accuracy top priorities. Since 2003, member satisfaction with the MLS has increased nearly five percent to 3.13. The membership also deemed staff knowledge, availability and helpfulness highly important. Staff availability improved by six percent to 3.10, and promptness of staff responses rose by the same percentage to 3.05. Ratings of staff knowledge and helpfulness both increased by two percent, knowledge to 3.44 and helpfulness to 3.31.
This year's survey also revealed several shifts in REALTOR® demographics. The number of members practicing real estate for four years or less increased by 18 percent since 1997, whereas members practicing for more than 10 years decreased by 20 percent over the same period. These statistics indicate that the growth of the local real estate profession is in line with state and national trends.
A task force is currently using member input gained from this survey to develop strategies that will better meet members' needs. Look to upcoming issues of Austin REALTOR® for further information.
