Press Releases: 2005
ABoR ACCEPTING APPLICATION FOR 2006 LEADERSHIP
ABoR Directors are the link between the association and its members. They serve as trustees, establishing and reviewing organizational performance standards. Directors are required to attend all regularly scheduled board meetings, which are typically held once a month. Directors are also strongly encouraged to attend ABoR functions, so that they may interact with the membership.
In addition, ABoR seeks to fill one Texas Association of REALTORS® (TAR) Director position and one TAR Regional Representative position. The TAR Director position carries a three-year term and starts in 2006; the Regional Representative position carries a two-year term and starts in 2007. TAR Directors have many responsibilities, including amending TAR's bylaws; electing TAR's officers and Regional Representatives; approving the statewide strategic plan; approving increases in TAR's membership dues; and defining regional boundaries. Regional Representatives act as liaisons between TAR and the local membership.
Applicants for all positions, in accordance with ABoR bylaws, must be primary REALTOR® members for at least three consecutive years. If you or someone you know meets these requirements and would like to apply, please do so by July 20, after which time no applications will be accepted. Interviews for all positions will take place on August 11.
Please note that applications to serve on the 2006 ABoR committees (including the Realty Round Up, Political Action and Diversity committees) will be available in September 2005.
The Austin Board of REALTORS® is a non-profit, voluntary organization representing more than 6,500 licensed REALTORS® in Central Texas. For further information, contact Vicki Harris at 512/454-7636, ext. 1001.
