ABOR ANNOUNCES SCHOLARSHIP WINNERS

May 13, 2005 - The Austin Board of REALTORS® is pleased to announce the winners of the 2005 Foundation Scholarships. Chosen from a pool of over 200 applicants, 10 local high school seniors were awarded $1,000 scholarships to the university of their choice in Texas. Scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities and employment history were all considerations in the selection process.

ABoR congratulates the following scholarship recipients: Joseph C. Barbour of Leander High School, son of REALTOR® Julia Barbour, who will be studying agriculture business at West Texas A&M in the fall; Daniel W. Graham of Jack C. Hays High School, who will be studying business administration at Texas A&M (A&M); Theresa Hoang of Cedar Park High School, valedictorian of her class, who will be studying pharmacy at the University of Texas at Austin (UT); Kimberly Hollenbeck of Bastrop High School, who will be studying nursing at Angelo State University; Andrew Huf of Granger High School, salutatorian of his class, who will be studying architecture at Tarleton State University; Briana James of Smithville High School, who will be studying biology at A&M; Shawn Parsons of Westwood High School, son of REALTORS® Kirby Parsons and Mary Battaglia, who will be studying marketing and finance at A&M; Kate Provost of Round Rock High School, who will be studying nutrition at either A&M or UT; LaToya Michelle Ross, who will be studying government at UT; and Faoziyath Sanni, who will be studying civil engineering at UT.

Given the volume of applications ABoR received, this year's selection process was highly competitive. The winners distinguished themselves through a unanimous commitment to both personal and community development. ABoR wishes them the best as they embark on their college careers.
