ABoR OFFERS ACCREDITED BUYER REPRESENTATIVE COURSES

February 7, 2006 - The Austin Board of REALTORS®' education department is pleased to announce the reinstatement of the Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR®) designation series. Last offered by ABoR in April 2004, the ABR designation is held nationally by more than 9,000 REALTORS® who work as buyers' agents.

ABR® designees complete a two-day course that covers the legalities and issues surrounding representation as a buyer's agent, as well as an elective advanced ABR® course.

In 2006, the two-day core course will be offered twice: May 24-25 and September 18-19. ABR® advanced elective courses will meet on May 26 and September 20. All courses - core and elective - will meet from 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.

On May 26, instructor Pat Strong (ABR®, CRB, CRS, GRI, LTG, PMN, SRES, CFS, CNHS, e-PRO) will present the elective course "Effective Negotiating for Real Estate Professionals," which also satisfies an elective for the Women's Council of REALTORS®' Performance Management Network designation. On September 20, instructor Lynda Conway (GRI, ABR®, CRS) will present "Successful Relocation for the Buyer's Representative," which examines the important growth area of relocation.

To obtain the designation, students must achieve test scores of 80 percent or higher, be members of NAR and verify five closed transactions where they represented the buyer within a three year time period. The course fee includes the first year's dues payment to NAR's Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC). v Please click here to register. The two-day core course costs $275, and the elective course costs an additional $100.
