Nationally Recognized Author to Deliver Keynote Address at Realty Round Up

September 15, 2006 - Blanche Evans, a nationally recognized author and the award-winning editor of the Internet's largest independent real estate news service, Realty Times, will deliver the keynote address at Realty Round Up 2006. Evans' speech, entitled "The Conspiracy to Put You Out of Business and What You Can Do About It," concerns the various forces that benefit from disparaging the REALTOR® profession in public forums. In surveying the current industry climate, Evans has developed a set of suggestions for protecting your business, which she will share in her address.

In addition to her duties at Realty Times, Evans is the author of two best-selling books: The Hottest e-Careers in Real Estate and Homesurfing.net: The Insider's Guide to Buying and Selling Your Home Using the Internet. Once named one of the "25 Most Influential People in Real Estate" by REALTOR® Magazine, Evans is a trusted authority to whom the nation's news organizations turn for expert analysis. Her opinions have been sought by outlets such as CNN, The Washington Post and the Associated Press.

Realty Round Up 2006 is set for Tuesday, October 17 at the Austin Convention Center. Breakfast will be served at 8:30 a.m., followed immediately by Evans' keynote address at 9 a.m. An afternoon address featuring housing market trends will be presented by Mark Dotzour, chief economist at the Texas A&M Real Estate Center, at 2 p.m. The exhibit hall will be open from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., after which there will be a party to close the festivities.

Hosted by the Austin Board of REALTORS®, Realty Round Up is the largest real estate trade show in Central Texas. Themed "The Golden Age of Television: The Rerun," this year's trade show picks up where last year's left off. In 2005, the show was cancelled as the Convention Center was being used to house Hurricane Katrina evacuees.
