ABoR Seeks Nominees for Annual Industry Awards

August 1, 2006 - Adept real estate professionals can ease the stress of the demanding home buying process for both clients and colleagues. Every year, the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) recognizes a distinguished group of its members who notably serve their clients, industry and community.

ABoR's Industry Awards, which will be presented at the annual Installation Banquet on December 1, honor individuals in the following categories: Affiliate of the Year; the Cultural Awareness Award; the REALTOR® Community Service Award; REALTOR® of the Year; Rookie of the Year; and Salesperson of the Year.

Nomination forms for this year's awards-available at the ABoR office (10900 Stonelake Blvd., Suite 100, in North Austin)-are due by September 15, 2006. More detailed category descriptions follow (please note that winners must maintain active member status). Please consider nominating a worthy colleague.

• Affiliate of the Year: An award given to an ABoR affiliate member who has been a proactive business partner to the association and a leader in the Austin community.
  
  
• Cultural Awareness Award: An award given to an ABoR member who has demonstrated a keen interest in promoting cultural awareness on the local, state and national levels.
  
  
• REALTOR® Community Service Award: An award given to an ABoR member who has actively improved the Austin-area community through a commitment to volunteer service.
  
  
• REALTOR® of the Year: An award given to an ABoR member who has worked tirelessly on the local, state and national levels to improve the real estate profession. Note: The sitting ABoR Chairman of the Board is ineligible for this award.
  
  
• Rookie of the Year: An award given to a REALTOR® with no more than 18 months experience who has shown productive promise and has demonstrated commitment to the local, state and national associations.
  
  
• Salesperson of the Year: An award given to an ABoR member who met success in both personal production and educational pursuits. This honoree should also be active in the local, state and national REALTOR® associations.
