Austin Mayor to participate in ribbon cutting ceremony and tree presentation

September 29, 2009 - Austin Mayor Lee Leffingwell will preside over the opening ceremonies at Realty Round Up, the Austin Board of REALTORS®’ (ABoR) annual trade show, on October 7 at the Austin Convention Center located at 500 E Cesar Chavez Street. Mayor Leffingwell will officially kick off the event at a ribbon cutting ceremony set for 10 a.m. at the main entrance of Exhibit Hall 1.

Immediately following the ribbon cutting, four native Texas trees will be presented to the City of Austin and Mayor Leffingwell will accept the donation on the City’s behalf. Two 12-foot oak trees and two 10-foot elm trees, both of which are drought resistant, will be given to the City from ABoR to signify ABoR’s continuing dedication to growing a greener Austin, which is the theme of this year’s trade show.

Among those attending will be State Representative Valinda Bolton, State Representative Eddie Rodriguez, County Judge Sam Biscoe, County Tax Assessor Nelda Wells Spears and Mayor Pro Tem Mike Martinez.
