ABoR Accepting Nominations for Annual Industry AwardsReal estate association opens the floor for nominations July 13, 2010 - Do you know a REALTOR® who has made outstanding contributions to their industry or community? Consider nominating a colleague for one of ABoR’s annual industry awards, as the Austin Board of REALTORS® (ABoR) is now officially accepting nominations. Award categories include REALTOR® of the Year, Affiliate of the Year, REALTOR® Community Service Award, Salesperson of the Year, Rookie of the Year and the Cultural Awareness Award.
REALTOR® of the YearThis honor is bestowed on an ABoR member who has made outstanding contributions to the real estate profession on the local, state and national levels, as well as the local community. ABoR's current Chairman of the Board is not eligible to receive this award during his or her term of office as extensive service is obligatory based on the elected office.Affiliate of the YearNominees for this award are not only recognized for business accomplishments and participation in ABoR activities, but also for contributions to other business-affiliated organizations and the community at large. Only Affiliate members of ABoR may be nominated for this award.REALTOR® Community Service AwardThe Community Service Award denotes a member who shows outstanding dedication to public service in his or her community. This person may donate a significant amount of time to local service organizations, work individually in the community or inspire others to volunteer their time. The award recipient must be a REALTOR® member of ABoR.Salesperson of the YearThe Salesperson of the Year Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee's outstanding contribution to the real estate industry in terms of overall achievement. This award is independent of the top producer awards given out by individual companies. The award recipient will be chosen based on ABoR, TAR and NAR activities, spirit of cooperation, personal production and educational achievements.Rookie of the YearThe Rookie of the Year Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee's outstanding contribution to the real estate profession in terms of overall achievement. A "rookie" is defined as an individual with 18 months or less experience as a REALTOR®. This award is independent of similar awards given out by individual companies. The recipient will be chosen based on participation in ABoR activities, spirit of cooperation, personal production and educational achievements.Cultural Awareness AwardThe Cultural Awareness Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee's outstanding contribution toward raising cultural awareness.
