REALTOR® Message Heard: Short-term Rental Review Halted to Collect Data

On January 12, the Austin City Council voted 5–2 to collect more data on short-term rentals (STR) before considering any regulation proposals. During the Planning Commission’s STR Workgroup meetings and visits with City Council, ABoR stressed that not enough information about STRs exists to support a citywide ordinance. It looks like the message was received! Visit ABoR’s Public Policy Positions web page to read more about what the City Council decision means for short-term rental owners.
