Winners for our 2019 Industry Awards have been announced here!
The Austin Board of REALTORS® Industry Awards honor ABoR members who have made outstanding contributions to the Central Texas real estate industry and their community.
Apply with Platinum Top 50
We're once again partnering with Platinum Top 50 (PT50) for our ABoR Industry Awards Program. By applying for a PT50 award, you or your nominee will also be considered for ABoR's Industry Awards categories: REALTOR® of the Year, Salesperson of the Year, Rookie of the Year, and the Community Service Award. Note: Applicants must meet ABoR awards criteria (see below). Applicants will be asked to create an online profile with PT50 to submit their application, regardless of whether they have applied in the past.
Introducing Two New Categories!
We're excited to add two new awards categories this year: Broker of the Year and Educator of the Year! We are currently accepting nominations for both of these categories through Saturday, August 24. See award eligibility and nomination links below.
2019 Industry Awards Deadlines
- August 1, 2019: Applications Open for PT50 & ABoR Industry Awards
- August 24, 2019: Nomination Deadline for Educator of the Year and Broker of the Year awards.

Award Categories & Eligibility
REALTOR® of the Year
The REALTOR® of the Year Award is bestowed on an ABoR member who has made outstanding contributions to the real estate profession at the local, state and national level, as well as in his or her local community. The award recipient will be chosen based on participation in ABoR, TR and NAR activities, a spirit of cooperation, personal production, and educational achievements. The recipient must be a primary REALTOR® member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®. Note: The ABoR Board President is not eligible to receive this award during his or her term of service as extensive service is obligatory based on the elected office.
Salesperson of the Year
The Salesperson of the Year Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee’s outstanding contribution to the real estate industry in terms of overall sales production achievement. The scoring is most heavily weighted on personal production to include the number of transactions closed (listing and sales) plus the amount of closed volume. This award is independent of the top producer awards given out by PT50 and other organizations. The recipient must be a primary REALTOR® member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®.
Rookie of the Year
The Rookie of the Year Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee’s contribution to the real estate profession in terms of overall achievement. A “rookie” is defined as an individual with 24 months or less experience as a REALTOR®. This award is independent of similar awards given out by individual companies or other organizations. The recipient will be chosen based on participation in ABoR activities, individual sales production, and educational achievements. The recipient must be a primary REALTOR® member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®. Note: Nominees must have earned their real estate license between August 31, 2017 and August 31, 2019 (two years prior to application deadline).
Community Service Award
The Community Service Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee’s outstanding dedication to public service in his or her community. A true civic leader, this person may donate a significant amount of time to local service organizations, work individually in the community or inspire others to volunteer their time. Participation in cultural diversity programs and organizations on a local, state, and national level will also be considered. The recipient must be a primary REALTOR® member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®.
Affiliate of the Year
The Affiliate of the Year Award is based on an evaluation of the nominee’s business accomplishments and participation in ABoR activities and also for contributions to other business-affiliated organizations and the community at large. The recipient must be an Affiliate Member of the Austin Board of REALTORS®. Note: The application for this award category is facilitated directly by ABoR.
Broker of the Year
Chosen by the membership, this prestigious award will be presented to the managing Broker who excels in principles of good real estate practices and the Code of Ethics among other brokers and the public. With hustle and tenacity, and a problem-solver mindset, this broker exemplifies integrity in his/her everyday business and management. Three awards will be given for broker of the year, including:
- Managing Broker (1-50 agents)
- Managing Broker (50 and above agents)
- Independent Broker
Note: This award category is facilitated directly by ABoR and is on a nomination basis only. Nominations are accepted through Saturday, August 24, 2019. ABoR will contact nominees directly with application instructions. Completed applications are due Saturday, August 31, 2019.
Educator of the Year
At ABoR, we pride ourselves on the quality of our classes and the caliber of our instructors. They build caring relationships with students as they work through the challenges and nuances of practicing real estate in our marketplace. Chosen by the membership, the Educator of the Year demonstrates expert communication skills, superior listening skills, deep knowledge, and passion for their subject matter.
