COVID-19: Shelter-in-Place Orders Update

As you may have read, the City of Austin, Travis County, and Williamson County issued today shelter-in-place orders for all residents, effective 11:59 p.m. tonight through April 13, 2020. While each order lists real estate as an essential business that can continue, there are significant inconsistencies between each order on which services are permissible and which are not.

These inconsistencies are a challenge we will help you overcome. ABoR worked hard to ensure these orders would reference your business as an essential part of our community, and now we're working hard with elected officials to interpret the meaning of all three shelter-in-place orders. We continue to advocate on behalf of your interests, seeking consistency and continuity across the Central Texas housing market, when it is needed now more than ever.

We will be in touch with additional information as soon as we know more. As we work through this, we may not have guidance on specific questions at this time and encourage you to work closely with your broker in the interim. As always, you can continue to visit our COVID-19 Resource Page for the latest resources and information.
