As you may have seen earlier, shelter-in-place orders will be issued tomorrow, March 24, for residents within the City of Austin and Travis County. We are actively working to find out if real estate will be included as an essential business as part of these orders, and will update you as soon as we know more.
In advance of this announcement, ABoR contacted Austin City Council and the Travis County Commissioners Court, urging that real estate be counted as an essential business in any local shelter-in-place order issued. Specifically, this includes residential real estate closings and transfers, residential lease execution and renewal, and residential property management.
Regardless of the decision, please be aware that ABoR will not be able to facilitate lockbox and REALTOR® Store sales as long as a shelter-in-place order is in effect. That said, you will still be able to receive remote support for your existing products by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org.
