The city of Austin council just passed an ordinance creating a 60 day moratorium on evictions. It also states this time may be extended. There is not even a provision that a renter has to show hardship. This is disastrous for landlords, resulting in a massive loss of income and a wave of foreclosures. This local ordinance overwrites my private contract based on state law. What will ABOR do to protect my rights as a landlord and homeowner?
