Looks like Realtors, Title Co, Appraisers, Inspectors are not deemed "Essential Businesses". What is the board's recommendation on handling current executed transactions? I personally have a closing scheduled for next week.
What is the board's recommendation on advising our buyer clients under contract with ending lease agreements or our seller clients under contract with move out plans?
Not sure if real estate agents and brokers are consider under "Financial Institutions" or "Professional Services". Below is what listed on the Shelter in Place order:
"Financial Institutions. Banks and related financial institutions, consumer
lenders, sales and finance lenders, credit unions, appraisers, title companies,
pawnshops, entities that issue bonds, insurance companies, underwriters,
agents, brokers, and related insurance claims and agents;"
"Professional Services. Professional services, such as legal or accounting
services, insurances services, and real estate services when necessary to assist
in compliance with legally mandated activities or to further Essential
Businesses, Essential Government functions, or Critical Infrastructure;"
I think we are considered essential either ways....what do you guys think? Stay strong & healthy!
Sam, we are aware that the City of Austin, Travis County, and Williamson County have issued shelter-in-place orders for residents, allowing some real estate services to continue as an essential service. We are thoroughly reviewing all three orders right now and will send a member-wide communication with further guidance as soon as we are able. Thank you for your patience.
