Looking Forward to 2021

It is my honor to serve you as your 2021 President. I wish each of you a happy New Year, filled with an eagerness to learn, a fresh focus on your real estate practice, and a renewed dedication to your clients’ best interests. As we look forward to a new year, we already know some of the challenges we face: low inventory, the lack of affordability, and the ripple effects of the COVID- 19 pandemic. Of course, there will undoubtably be challenges ahead that we can’t yet predict, but the future of Central Texas real estate is bright. No matter where you are in your career, the Austin Board of REALTORS® will supply the tools, assistance, and leadership you need to continue exceptional service to your clients. In 2021, we will continue to be the organized voice for Central Texas REALTORS® and homeowners. We will protect your business by advocating for REALTORS® and real estate, ensuring that our business remains essential at every level of government.

Leadership, to me, is an act of service. It’s about caring for others, having an open heart and mind, and inspiring future leaders to step up. Building community through service is what I will strive to foster during my presidency. In 2021, we’re embarking on a Year of Community. In order to do this effectively, our leadership must work collaboratively to fulfill our mission to make agents successful on their own terms. When we have community, we can accomplish so much more for our members and our industry.

My top priorities for 2021 will be to focus on 1) professionalism, through new programs that increase diversity and inclusiveness; 2) service, by shaping the future of real estate through exceptional market intelligence; and 3) advocacy, by promoting fair housing and protecting private property rights. Help shape these priorities by stepping up and being an ambassador of our Association. From volunteer groups to advocacy teams, there are a number of opportunities for you to get involved, enhance your business, and give back to your community and your industry.

I want to thank you for your time, your professional commitment, and your dedication to our industry and to the clients and communities you serve every day. The great strides we have made this year would have never been possible without us working in conjunction with one another. Whether we are doing great or missing the mark, your feedback matters, and I want to hear it. You can reach out to me anytime at President@ABoR.com.

We are better together. Happy New Year!
