Susan Horton

Elected Terms: 2017-2019; 2021-2023

A licensed broker since 2009 and ABoR member for over a decade, Susan has nearly 30 years of real estate experience and has served on numerous REALTOR® committees and boards at the local, state, and national levels.

At ABoR, Susan has served on the Legislative Management Team, ABoR Foundation Board of Directors, Ambassadors Task Force, History Task Force, and Governing Policy, Government Affairs, Education, Professional Standards, and Grievance Committees. Outside of her local Association contributions, Susan has also served as PAC Trustee/Chair, Texas REALTORS® TREPAC Trustee, Women’s Council of REALTORS® (WCR) Past Officer, and a past Residential Real Estate Council (RRC) Committee Chair.

Susan’s honors encompass designations to teach NAR Builders Courses: CRS, GRI, and SRS, and certification in Mentor By Referral Only. She is a three-time Platinum Top 50 REALTOR® Winner, 2016 Home Builders Association (HBA) REALTOR® of the Year, 2015 ABoR Salesperson of the Year, 2007 WCR Entrepreneur of the Year, and 1995 ABoR Affiliate of the Year. Her leadership training includes being a graduate of the Texas REALTORS® Leadership Program (TRLP) in 2011, TRLP Spokesperson Training (2009-2011), John Maxwell 360 Degree Leadership Training (2010), WCR Leadership Training (2004), and Brian Buffini Leadership Mastery.

Susan is committed to volunteer service and is a longtime volunteer and donor for the ABoR Foundation’s Scholarship Program, having also volunteered for the Family Eldercare Summer Fan Drive and Austin Habitat for Humanity’s Holiday Blitz Build through the Foundation. Other volunteer service includes the HBA Sales & Marketing Council, WCR’s Bras for a Cause, the RRC, Any Baby Can, Texas REALTORS®, TREPAC, the Humane Society, the Children’s Center, and her participation and support at the Gateway Community Church.

In her free time, Susan loves seeking out learning opportunities, dancing, playing golf, gardening, and cooking for her family and friends.
