Runoff Election Day is Tuesday, December 11!
ABoR’s Legislative Management Team (LMT) met with and vetted candidates running for Austin City Council. The LMT then made recommendations for candidate endorsements to the ABoR Board of Directors, which were approved. The Austin Board of REALTORS® is thrilled to put its support behind the following candidates:
ABoR Endorsed City Council Candidates
Council District 1 Natasha Harper-Madison
Council District 3 Council Member Sabino “Pio” Renteria
Council District 8 Frank Ward
All ABoR endorsed local candidates completed questionnaires about REALTOR® issues such as affordability, land use, water infrastructure, transportation, and mobility. Additionally, each endorsed candidate has expressed a willingness to work with ABoR toward policy outcomes that are supportive of homeowners and a healthy housing market in Central Texas.
Bond Propositions A-G Passed!
ABoR celebrates the passage of City of Austin bond propositions A-G. These bonds represent a needed investment in the future of Austin and in maintaining a sustainable city that continues to grow and attract people from around the world. Austin last passed a comprehensive bond package in 2012, and since then has welcomed over 130,000 residents. The proposed bonds represent investments in core services, such as parks, drainage, libraries, and transportation; as well as a large investment in affordable housing to help provide homes for single parents, large families, those on a fixed income, seniors, and others who are finding they have to travel further and further to find a home they can afford.
