As the Chief Executive Officer of ABoR and ACTRIS MLS, Emily serves as the sole employee to the Board of Directors. She ensures ABoR is fueling the success and improving the professionalism of the organization’s nearly 20,000 members. She has a proven record and passion for advocating on behalf of REALTORS® and homeowners across Central Texas.
After graduating from the University of Texas at Austin with a B.A. in Government, Emily began working at ABoR in 2007 as a Government Affairs Coordinator. After briefly working for Texas REALTORS®, she worked her way up the ranks from Director of Public and Government Affairs to Chief Operating Officer. In 2018, she was hired as the youngest and first female CEO by the ABoR and ACTRIS Board of Directors. In 2021, Emily was appointed Chair of the MLS Technology Holdings, LLC Board of Directors, following ACTRIS’ joint acquisition of Remine.
Emily is a hands-on leader who is heavily invested in fostering personal relationships to build progress. She believes that the Association and the ACTRIS MLS are most effective when they leverage the power of the community, built through the membership and across the marketplace. Under her tenure of leadership at ABoR, she’s led the implementation of two five-year ABoR strategic plans while elevating the organization’s profile and impact, regionalized ABoR’s footprint and member services, and championed MLS listings data integrity standards.
Emily is deeply engaged in the community she serves. She currently serves on the Leadership Austin Board of Directors, is Past Chair of HousingWorks Austin, and is a member of the Austin-Area Research Organization. She has received accolades from Austin Under 40, the Austin Business Journal‘s Profiles in Power and Best CEO Awards, and the Austin Chamber’s Greater Austin Business Awards and serves on a variety of industry advisory positions, including the National Association of REALTORS® MLS Executives Advisory Board and REALTORS® Property Resource Board. In addition to her passion for housing equity and accessibility, Emily cares deeply about the National Kidney Foundation and Dell Children’s Medical Center. Her youngest son received a kidney transplant just before he turned two and both organizations mean the world to her family.
Emily is a proud mama to two young boys, Hudson and Barrett. She spends her limited free time working off stress with “pop” rides on her Peloton, watching UT football, and snuggling her new Goldendoodle puppy, Dolly!
